Biography:

I was born in Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea in 1952. I wrote my first play when 14 years old. My second play won three awards, including Best Australian Play in the 1971 NSW Festival of the Arts. I have won an AWGIE as well as several international poetry awards. I studied Journalism and Public Relations at Charles Stuart University, then joined the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) as a member of the first National Playwrights Studio; transferred to Arts at the University of New South Wales, majoring in Drama. I have a BA (Theater Studies) and Honors in Creative Writing.
After 25 years working in advertising and PR in Sydney, I moved to Brisbane, in 2004 and have written nine stage plays, four musicals, five screenplays, two novels, a body of song lyrics and poetry and a number of stories for young children.
