Biography:

In the year 2000 I wrote and self-published the biography of Dr Shishupal Rambharos, the Hon. Life President of the Aryan Benevolent Home in South Africa. His life story is a remarkable one: his father died when he was 6 years old, his mother was almost blind and he had an older brother who was mentally challenged. After his father's death the family was taken in by the newly formed Aryan Benevolent Home, which was set up as an Anath Ashram to care for the needy and the desperate. He was the first child to be taken in. He was educated at the school set up by the Home on a neighbouring property, up to Standard 6. Then he commenced work as the Home could not afford to educate him at High School level. His successes in educating himself came through part-time studies. In 1980, the University of Natal awarded him a doctorate for his life-long work to uplift the lives of those in the care of the Home, of which he had become President , a position he held for 37 years. During this time the Home grew and expanded to centres in other cities in South Africa. His close association with the original parent body of the Home, the Arya Yuvuk Sabha, of which he became president at a young age, infused in him a need to devote himself to the work the Sabha had initiated. He managed all this - expansion of services, locating suitable premises after the Group Areas Act moved Indians out of Cato Manor, leading the Home with a passion and dedication second to none. Even when he became a teacher, all hours after school were spent in service to the Home.
Dr Rambharos is now 89 years old, but still lives in a small flat at the Aryan Benevolent Home.

I need to publish the biography again, with perhaps a short chapter that traces his life in the last 9 years.
