Book Description:

Master of Magic is a fantasy adventure with a strong dash of romance. Set in a mythical kingdom in Europe in the 13th century, the 100,000 words manuscript has three sections.
Book 1 tells the story of a poor farm boy, Jaxt Johansen who is apprenticed to Olearius the Great, the most powerful wizard in the kingdom.
To cheat death Olearius raises a succubus who tells him to, “obtain a baby boy, let him live for four and twenty years in scholarly endeavour training him as your apprentice in the arts of magic, then, when he is ripe, place this fragment of a Pharaoh's skull upon his brow and utter an incantation from the Egyptian's 'Book of the Dead'. A portal will open for you to enter and take possession of the youth's body. He will enter your body and consequently die. Thus you will have all you desire."
In book two Jaxt defeats Olearius in a magic battle becoming a Master of Magic and falls in love with Mirandolina. As his magical powers increase life becomes correspondingly fraught for Mirandolina. She is tried for witchcraft and almost drowned, has to put up with uninvited guests living in her house and is almost killed in a violent home invasion.
Part three tells of Jaxt’s transformation from a rural wizard into a kingmaker. As the political situation in the kingdom falls into crises upon the death of the King, Jaxt has to grow into the role of kingmaker and use his magic to defeat the evil usurper Prince John, give the people a new Queen and a young King to stand in their authentic places, and from chaos bring about cosmic order which allows the laws of nature to function as they should.
